Kelford 272 question...

Yes, do springs and retainers. There are people who will tell you they aren't required, but don't listen to them. For the insurance it's WELL worth the price since you have the thing cracked open anyway. I initially did stock springs/retainers with my Kelford 272s and ended up regretting it when I spiked the rpms and damaged a valve.

It's best to run springs and retainers but you don't have to. I ran the stock springs with these cams for 2+ years reving to 8k with no issues. 11mm lift is the max you can run on stock springs. I'm not recommending you to stay with the stock springs, just letting you know it can be done with no issues. I picked up 35hp over my old BC272 cams.
