Attach front plate without drilling or ruining paint?

I was thinking about attaching my front license plate with industrial strength velcro, but I'm afraid my paint my rip off when it's time to remove the velcro.. Will this happen if I heat the velcro and use floss to remove it? The more important question is will this hold?

Reason I ask is because I got my first license plate ticket today and I really don't want to drill the bumper

Well, I don't know why yours didn't, but my oem bumper came setup with the proper holes to mount the bracket in for the front plate. I didn't need to drill any holes for it. Do you have an aftermarket front bumper?

I bought my car from someone in Florida and it does not have holes drilled. It's not that I don't want to go through the act of drilling the holes, I just don't want holes in my bumper..

Hmm that may work

This evo has one. I would want to mount it off to the side though.

Zip ties to the mesh on the driver side or double sided tape.

Most people I know put it on long enough to get the ticket signed off and the remove it again.

I have a front plate bracket that came on my car that I took off because I don't need a front plate. I'm assuming it is Oem because it doesn't need to have any holes drilled in the bumper. It bolts in factory locations on drivers side. If you want it, pm me. Freebie, just pay for shipping. I have no use for it.

The beatrush bracket will not require any drilling in to that actual bumper.

I need more of a permanent solution because I got the ticket around where I work and I know these guys would love to ticket me again.. They even have the audacity to take speed on the back road that leads to my companies headquarters most mornings..

I may take you up on that offer if I decide to drill the holes in my bumper. I currently don't have holes drilled in the stock locations.

You had me excited that beatrush made a solution, but it looks like the CT9A bracket requires the stock hole locations + an additional hole.

I'm not sure that will fit. In order attach it to the in the driver's side grill, the bracket would have to come out further because the plate cannot fit flush there.

Has anyone ever used this bracket?

I don't know if I am misunderstanding you, or if you're misunderstanding me, but there is no need to drill holes in your bumper for the bracket that I have. When I got my car, I was like sh*t, there is going to be holes in the bumper, but then when I took it off, it used locations behind the bumper that it bolted to. I also just noticed you have a IX, this was on an VIII bumper, but it still might work. LMK if you want it.

Does it look like this:

If so, that will not work on a evo 9.
