Going Prices for Evo8-9 in Cali

So, I regretted selling my Evo 8 a while back.. And I've booked time off to head down from Canada to California this summer (LA area preferably) to pick up a new one.

Curious as to what your guys opinions are on a 1-2 owner, 40-60k miles, clean title + car AND as close to stock as possible Evo 8-9 should be around. I'd be looking for a GSR. Not sure how common Rally red is either in that area.. Seems to me that all the RR evos are in NY.

My guess was somewhere between 18-21k depending on condition of course. That's what I saw on a average time back last year.. not sure how it is these days now.

Reason why I need as close to stock as possible is to avoid conflict with the Gov't for the RIV when I bring it in. They seem to have issues with modded cars. Mainly just the body/suspension is what they get pissy about.

Thanks guys!

40-69k is low mileage for ct9a Evos. For a clean 8 in that range I say 18-20. For a clean 9 in that range it's an easy 22-25

Thank you Viegas!

Hopefully the prices don't fluctuate too much by the time I go.

If anyone has a different opinion, Please chime in! I'll be taking about 30k with me just incase.. but I don't really want to spend more than 20 on a clean 8 or 23 on a clean 9.

Got my bone stock MR w/ 48K miles in good condition for 22.5K.

I wouldn't pay more than 23K for a low mile clean 9 GSR. Try to skip on an MR since the trans is weak, everyone I know already blew it.

That is not true about the modded car issue with RIV. RIV doesn't care about the car being modded I brought my evo ix lowered with a bunch a mods and a very loud exhaust.

Seriously?

A friend of mine brought in a silver 8 and they wanted him to swap out the exhaust, intake and wheels.

Guess I'll just fight them if they try.

Thanks guys

I'll assume you meant IX and no, that's completely backwards. The VIII ran from 03-05. The IX was only in 06(USDM).

June 28- July 7th.

Ill be posting a wanted ad around end of May and do my searching then for something perfect to what I want and place a deposit.

I definitely love the RR's over anything, but I'd settle for a black or white. However, the (electric?) Blue is started to grow on me too...

And thank you everyone for you inputs! Much appreciated!

Search for a nice electric blue. It's the prettiest color for an evo, and I've only seen it in pics!
