New to 2006 Evo MR. Picking up the car next week!

Hi fellas. I'm very stoked right now because I'll be picking up my 06 MR with 66k miles on the chasis, and 30k miles on AMS 2.3L stroker next week. All of the maintenance have been done either at Works, or at its local dealership. OEM turbo was rebuilt 500 miles ago by Works. Pretty much, this car is pretty damn good condition. Can't wait!

congrats! i love my MR so much i bought two. you may run into some problems with the stock turbo on the stroker. most stock-frame turbos need anti-surge housings on 2.1L+ engines. on the bright side, it will spool super fast LOL.

good luck and welcome.

OEM turbo and a 2.3L stroker?! You always going to be in boost is it still the 6 speed or does it have a 5 speed swap?!

Hi guys, thanks for the warm welcome! It's silver with black leatherette interior. Still has 6spd tranny with Works stage 2 clutch, AMS front mount. Yeah, it still has oem turbo, but that will change in due time. The current owner told me that the car has AMS fuel rail, and it already has either water or meth injection setup, but not hooked up. I did see a tank with some sort of white liquid in the trunk area. I'll need to investigate and find out. I'll get some pics up after I give the evo a needed bath and wax

+1. Or you should have your tuner put a limit on the torque.

There is a guy on here running the 6 speed with a shep upgrade and it's holding fine however most people swap in a 5 speed from the gsr with either a shep or a buschur

A built 5 speed from Shep Trans, TRE, or Jacks Transmission should do the trick.
