Problem while putting my clutch in, need help! Pictures!
So I dropped my transmission today to install my clutch. While trying to put a different flywheel in there was a slight difference. Here's what I mean.
This is the stock Flywheel
And here's the after market.
There's an alignment pin on the crankshaft itself. I tried twisting it out but it wouldn't budge. And the new Flywheel does not have an alignment hole. What the hell?! What should I do?

1) to remove your flywheel, just wiggle it back and forth. I typically smack them with a rubber or dead blow hammer to break the rust... then it will come off.
2) What the hell flywheel is that? Return it as it looks like a cheap no-name chinese flywheel. You need that locator pin. So either get a quality flywheel. or refinish yours. Most machine shops can have it for you the same day.

Yea man that's your flywheel not the PP. If you're not going for a lighter one the cheapest option most of the time is to bring it to a machine shop and have them resurface it. Usually costs me $30. I'd trust a resurfaced OE flywheel over a new knock off brand any day
Or pony up the $$ and get a lightened fidanza or something

This fall I put a clutch in a stock '03 Evo 8 and I took pictures.
The second picture looks like a stock flywheel but one that has been refinished.
There was no locating pin in the crankshaft of the car I worked on, only a hole that could take a pin.
The partially drilled hole seen in both photographs here was also in the stock flywheel I saw.
The first picture is not of a stock flywheel.
BTW, there's a jawed slide hammer machine shops use to pull dowel pins.

Well, my question really is that why is there a alignment pin on the crankshaft? On most pictures I've seen, there is just a hole where you COULD put a pin in it.

Since that is not the original flywheel someone put one in there. I'd guess the flywheel you took off came with a pin in it, the hole in the crank was a little tighter and it transferred.
