Good help there ^^^

If you're running a journal bearing turbo then a high zinc oil, if not then any high quality synthetic oil, not Mobile 1 though from all accounts.

To be honest as long as you change your oil often, like every 3000 miles, then it makes bugger all difference

So if he is all OEM engine/Turbo then why is running the recommended oil by the manufacturer, the oil that comes in the car, bad??? Makes sense to me.

It's all preference really if you are using good quality synthetic oil. If you want in depth oil analysis head over to Bob is the oil guy.

I use Shell Rotella T6 5W-40. Love the stuff.

Do not be discouraged by some of the responses you are likely to get.
AMSOil is by far the best to use. I use it and I sell it. I do not know who is the current EvoM AMSOil dealer, but check around with your local parts stores and ask who your local dealer is.

Hahaha, raise your hand if you knew this was coming.

Everytime without fail. It's like they're all brainwashed.

Pathetic

If your still on the stock motor, then run the weight that's on your oil cap. Your motor will be fine if you run Mobil 1, you can spend a lot more on boutique oils, and nothing wrong with that other than the cost. Unfortunately this question becomes a heated debate on forums. I understand you want to make sure you are using a high quality product because you take pride in your vehicle, but like was said earlier, if your basically stock, sticking with what the oem manufacturer states on your oil cap is just fine, I promise.

I used to say the same thing. I used Mobil1 for years and years. Then I met Mario a local AMSOil dealer, after I inquired about it. I tested it out and was sold. Everyone prefers their own brands or things they are comfortable with. I wouldn't call it brainwashing though.

Humor the rest of us on your suggestion?

There is no blanket statement "Best Oil" Period.

I've used UOA's, feel, and usage to determine a best oil my given application

These type of blanket statements are not only innacurate. but also doesn't help the community gain any knowledge. For one, there is no ONE oil that's the best to use because any one oil cant be the best at everything. The question becomes what the oil is intended for. Are you saying that there is some magical oil that is best for a Race engine to run a qualifying lap on, at the same also be able to do a 10,000 mile uoa? Give me a break. This is my point. If your on a built block the BETTER choice is something like a 15w50, but if your stock that is not the best choice. There are better oils that handle fuels like Ethanol than others, so that is another factor. Do you get what Im getting at now-- there is no best oil to use and for those members that don't know a lot about oils and read this on here they wont know any better.

For the record I use Amsoil, do I think its the absolute best, not at all. Given all the factors involved, this brand offers a happy balance. I also am not a fan of Mobil 1, but I see no issues in using the better Mobil 1 lineup, in a mostly stock 4g63.

AMSoil is no doubt good stuff. Then again most full synthetic oil is.

I use the Shell Rotella T6 in my 05 Kawi 636 too. It uses a wet clutch and is harder on oil than a car is. High Zinc content as well.

It's all about what you feel comfortable with and what you are looking for in an oil.

I think I stepped on a landmine here. Allow me to correct myself.

"AMSOil in my opinion is by far the best choice over many leading competitors, however the use and interval may be application dependant"
