Nah not yet. I'd prefer to go in there with a part # to help them better locate the part. But last resort, I can always give them my VIN and see if they can find it.

I do believe it has been discontinued, and even if you were to find one the gauge and the sensor are calibrated to each other so it won't be accurate.

Is this true? Could any other members on here confirm this?

This is how it was explained to me when I was looking into this years ago for mine. This is why when you could get them you could not buy the gauge without the sensor and it was pretty expensive from what I remember. This was 4/5 years ago and even at that time only one dealership had the parts left in stock and they went out of stock of them shortly after. Best bet is to find someone who has a working set and willing to let them all go or do what I did and replace with aftermarket. It will pay for itself very quickly.

I suspect that if you go to summit racing and search for "oil temperature sending unit" and limit search to "VDO" that you may be able to come up with a compatible sending unit:

Thanks for the info though. New info to me.
Wow if this is true then that's a $100 down the drain.
No wonder people always sell them gauge only, never with senders as they thought they could get it to work too after buying the gauges.
Like the rest of us lol.....
