What's wrong with your current engine? "High mileage" is totally arbitrary, but replacing your whole engine or rebuilding it solely based on the fact that it has 100k miles is the most ridiculous thing I've ever heard. Do a compression test, monitor oil usage, leaks, and make an educated assessment of your engine's overall health based on that.

Grabs popcorn and waits for a ridiculous response from the original poster. Why would you buy a high mileage EVO to only then ask to find out about replacing the engine? Interesting....

I bought my evo 9MR with 130K on it I just did all the maint. on it spark plugs, wires, timing belt, water pump, flushed every fluid and im talking about from power steering fluid to differential fluid and its running stronger than some evos with lower miles...just treat it right bro do all the maint. and you have nothing to worry about

I'm in for the laughs on this one. I'm of firm belief that as long as you maintain a car well and use quality fluids it'll last an incredibly long time. My old honda accord was beaten into the dirt daily and still rolled 200k like it was it's first day off the dealer lot.
