Arrow Is it possible to get an evo 8 for $8k?

Please no bashing or comments like "you can't afford it". I am just curious to know since evo is my dream car (ANY EVO) and i have $8000 to spend on a car. I know i can put down as downpayment and get an evo x but with the job i have i simply can't afford payments over $200. So is there a possibility of finding an 2003 evo for around $8k I do expect it to be beaten up and with flaws but i can fix some stuff on my own if its not major.

maybe a salvaged one with lots of front and rear end damage. you can put $8k down on a $15k Evo VIII, though, and end up with a payment that's in your price range.

yeah i was thinking about that but wasn't sure if the payments would be in my budget. Any suggestion on whats the mileage range should be for a 15k evo 8?

How many miles did it have, when you bought it?

unless its a roller, you wont find a runing evo for 8k unless its wrecked and you fix it little by little

well I did found one 500 miles away from me. It has 188k miles and a throttle leak. The guy is willing to sell it to me for 8k but I'm sure throttle leak can't be the only problem on 188k miles evo. I'm debating on if I should get that and fix it myself or put down that 8k as down payment and get one for 15k with less miles. Its going to be my daily so I need it to be reliable.

I got extraordinarily lucky with mine so it probably would never happen to me again in a million years but the chassis had 71k miles and the motor had less then 10k on a built bottom end

don't buy a car from anyone that uses the term "throttle leak". just put your cash down and make payments. get a good example or you will hate the car for life.

True well any suggestions to what mileage range to look for or anything else in a 15k evo?

mileage is relative to how the car is taken care of. i can promise you that any car i have with 200k miles is probably going to be in better shape than most with 80k.

you just never know until you buy the car and spend time with it. inspect and do a compression test is really all you can do.

cliffnotes: mileage will vary and may not tell the whole story.

also, that car you posted seems very decent.

For a 9 that's a pretty good price if the title is clear.
