Evo 8 Shakes while braking no idea

Ok the car shakes while braking anything over 60mph...feels like it's in the front as the steering wheel shakes some, but its violent vibration through the whole car. Car rides smooth until you brake, wheel bearings feel fine also.

We just put brand new rotors and pads up front...still does it! Any ideas

Rear rotors......they are warped. I just fixed the same problem on mine. After turning the rear rotors it was smooth as glass...

Have you checked the inner/outer tie rods and lower ball joints? Check for play coming out of the steering rack as well.

A shake through the whole car could manifest itself through problems in the rear suspension ball joints/bushings as well.

I agree, def check those areas first. But the most common cause for a full on car shake or vibration at higher speed braking comes from the rear rotors most of the time. Like I said I just had the same Identical issue. After turning the front rotors, most if not all of the steering wheel shake was removed, and all that was left was the car shake at high speed braking, turned the rear and all shake and vibration was gone.

sounds like pad material left on the rotors. most people call them being "warped". i'd have the runout checked and go from there. that's the easiest place to start and most common as well.

If it is the rotors don't turn them.
By cutting them your risking more warping down the road.
Just do several high speed stops and re-bed them again.
Easy fix!

next time, just clear the pad material. turning is not necessary and you end up cutting away valuable metal.
