90 degree spacer with wb02

Quick question. I have recently (yesterday) installed a test pipe and my wb02 is rubbing on the drive shaft.

Has any one used a 90 degree spacer with a wb02 and did it work?

My initial thoughts are the gases won't flow through the sensor but I hope I'm wrong.

Can you rotate the test pipe so the bung can face opposite side of the drive shaft?

^^^^, the wide band needs to be in the exhaust stream to work---a 90* bend takes it out. need to look at what you took out and its orientation and install your next project exactly like it came out... your 180* off.

Just be careful that if you do rotate the TP the bung is still above the half way point on the pipe or it will collect condensate and screw up your WB. Basically, the only way for this to work is if the bung was originally at exactly the 3 o'clock position and flipping the pipe puts it at exactly the 9 o'clock position. If it's 15 degrees above 3 o'clock (say maybe 2:30) it won't work because when you rotate it it'll be at 15 degrees under 9 (say maybe 8:30).

Easy fix - get a screw in bung plug, plug your current bung, and have a new bung welded into the 12 o'clock (top dead center) location on the test pipe about 2" from where it connects to the down pipe. There is PLENTY of room there. Total cost is probably next to nothing... and you probably already have a spare bung that came with your wideband.

I don't think the OP is the welder of the bung or the producer of said test-pipe. Most likely it's of the shelf part and he's just installing it incrrectly.

Just climbed under to double check.

But because the bung is in at a angle (roughly 2 o'clock) twisting the pipe 180 will put the sensor in a down ward position ( roughly 8 o'clock). Also rotating the pipe end for end the wb02 sits in a slight down position (roughly 3:30) or pointing directly back at the drive shaft.

Unfortunately I am going to have to risk ruining the sensor due to condensation in the 3:30 position till I can get the test pipe to a fabricator and get a new bung put in.

I guess that's what happens when you buy no name eBay stuff.

Cheers guys :-)
