Has Mitsubishi stopped making Evo 8/9 parts?
Hi,
I am looking for part numbers of the OEM trunk and wing, but seems like www.mitsubishiparts.net don't have them anymore.
Looking for the following part numbers:
Evo 8 wing -> found this to be MN126529WA
Evo 9 wing -> cannot find this
Trunk lid, found several on the sticky, but not sure what the differences are:
MN161463 RS ~04/07/31 trunk lid
MN161464 RS 04/08~ trunk lid (no spoiler)
MN150620 RS 04/08~ trunk lid (spoiler)
MN161462 MR trunk lid (spoiler)
MN161463 MR trunk lid (no spoiler)
If I put these part numbers on www.mitsubishiparts.net, they all show very difference prices, so something must be wrong. I can't imagine there will be $200 differences between a RS trunk/MR trunk.

I could order every part I want so I dont think they stop making the parts. In Germany a new supplier started to sell the parts for Mitsubishi. And I dont think that they would start to sell parts which are almost off production.
Mitsubishi change the part numbers all the time, but the dealer must see the changes in his ASA System. Thats why the part names in the Internet are wrong after some time.

Those sites have nothing to do with availability with regard to what you see. They are running leased software (usually via trademotion) that has a master list of what they can/can't sell through the site based on probability of sales. They pay per part, so to speak, in the lease. You'll often find stupid parts like transmission fluid that simply won't show on those sites unless you use an outdated number, because the master list has not updated since 2008 when it had a different part number, only new parts have been tacked on to the end.
Bottom line, you should not use that site for any indication whatsoever about part availability. Plus there are cheaper sites out there anyway.
The 10 year limit is only what is required by governing bodies to support a vehicle (And if I remember right GM was pushing for that to be dropped to 5 or 6 years or something). Mitsubishi typically makes things for closer to 20 years except on absolutely money waster parts they would never make money on again (brake lines for 1992 Eclipse, crap like that).
As for your parts....
MN126529WA: 8 in stock, 20 in dealers
Evo 9 wing was replaced by MN126529WA
MN161463: 4 in stock
MN161464: 0 in stock, but not obsolete; ordering could take weeks
MN150620: Vintage part; no longer in production but may be available scratch/dent or recertified used (really)
MN161462: 5 in stock, 1 in dealers
I'm not aware of any difference in the decks that prevent swapping from year to year. I recall seeing slight structural changes but nothing you would notice without looking (thickness of sheet, width of braces). They all come primered now. Bummer on the vintage one, the retail on it was $165, cheapest one they made.
