Carbon fiber trunk would be a better weight savings

pretty sure the test was performed by Burchur racing as well.

All USDM EVO's GSR/RS/MR came factory with Aluminum hood and fenders

My Seibon CF hood was most certainly lighter than the factory Aluminum hood that came off.

Carbon looks good on black until it starts to yellow. Oxidation is no problem but yellowing you cannot bring back as it gets into the resin and it's done.

I have a carbon hood and trunk both are factory color matched.

OK, a couple things...

1) I tested a VIS OEM style carbon fiber hood, and it was lighter than stock.

2) Cheap polyester based resin yellows. If it's an epoxy resin it will not yellow

3) I always clearcoat carbon fiber with a clear coat with UV inhibitor. (you can get a true 2K clear coat in a rattle can from spraymax)

4) I have an OEM style carbon fiber hood on mine, and it's just different enough that I get questions from people, without it looking like a ricer. In fact, I had some 50 yr old redneck up here in Madison say "Did that hood come stock?" I said "Nope, aftermarket" "Well it sure looks good"

5) Hood Pins are a MUST. I use a pretty high dollar nearly flush mount hood pin set on mine. I am very pleased with them

The only problem I have had with them is that they freeze in the winter.
