Carbon fiber hood advice

Do you guys think a carbon fiber hood on a tarmac black Evo VIII would look good? Trying to decide whether to keep it stock or go with carbon fiber.

Honest advice here. I have the same color car and wanted the same thing. Why spend $700+ for a carbon hood that will fade and weighs no less than your stock hood when you can get it vinyl wrapped in 3m carbon for about $150? That's the route I think I'll go.

Personal opinion, I love carbon fiber, and I wouldn't paint it if I got it. However money is the issue here, but if you got the extra money to throw, then do it. It'll look good.

If it was a carbon fiber oem style hood then I wouldn't do it.

The voltex carbon fiber hood or the monster sport carbon fiber hood would be my two top choices.

Personally I'd say go for it. It'll look good and ppl will notice it. But like @deylag stated that going with jus a oem carbon fiber hood don't do it, go for another style and it'll look good. My cousin drives a Cobalt SS in black and his carbon fiber hood looks bada$$...

To clarify my original post, I agree with what the last couple guys said. Definitely go for a different style if you're going carbon fiber.

Wrapping the hood with carbon fiber will look fake and childish.if you can afford go with high quality carbon fiber hood cause otherwise it will fade and your Evo will look ruined.

Im assuming yours is not the MR right?

because I've read a test that the aluminium bonnet on the MR VIII and IX are actually a touch lighter than aftermarket carbon fibre ones…

pretty sure the test was performed by Burchur racing as well.

Couple of quick thoughts

Unless you buy the hood w/a clear coat the sun will destroy it over time

Also, You should seriously consider hood pins especially if the EVO will see triple digits speeds

Almost every carbon part comes with a uv protectant clear on it. (unless its eBay junk) I think carbon parts on anything black looks like garbage. But that’s just my opinion.
