Evo as a first car? Good or bad idea?

Hi I'm eighteen and I recently learned how to drive stick. I don't own any car and I was thinking of getting an evo ix mr. I have no real driving experience other than practicing driving stick, and this would be my first car if I do get to own one. It would be my daily and i don't want to race with it or anything. I want to know if this is crazy? I also would like to know your driving experience with this beautiful car. Ps, if there are any previous motorcycle owners, which would you prefer?
Thank you !

suggest you drive a basic econobox as your first car. Then if your "experienced" enough, get a more powerful one like the Evo. There are many unfortunate accidents cause by too excited first time drivers w/ a fast car.

How old are you anyways?

If u have extra cash to buy tcase, clutch kit maybe a trans etc then get it..if i were you and I had the cash to buy it i would prob buy it too. If you want something to beat around and make power get a 96-99 mitsu eclipse gsx...parts are cheap.

This question gets asked practically once a month... do a brief search in the newbie subforum and you should find dozens of threads on the exact same subject.

Don't do it. You say you don't want to race or do anything silly. But you will, you'll make the choice and also be influenced by your friends. I asked the same question. and in hindsight I'm extremely happy that I didn't get the Evo. I have one now and the expenses are one of the many reasons not to own one at your age. Get a Ralliart, I did. Great first car. Also, use the search function

Pretty much.

Maybe I should start a "Are you 15-18 and considering an evolution for a first car?" thread. Maybe it will get stickied.

I drove a 250hp honda civic for awhile, was so easy to drive. Someone here told me that honda fans won't like how the evos shift. I disagree, I love how it shifts, so much better then a honda. Was scary at first to drive it honestly lol, wasn't used to the acceleration or torque, surprised myself a few times. The day I got the car and was driving back, I raced a SRT-4 and ended up hitting 140mph, before I knew it scared the **** outta me lol. I'm used to it now though, the handling is amazing.

Parts cost to much to replace you should look in to another car for your first car. Parts and labor on a clutch will cost you over 1k
