aem uego help!!!

just bought an aem uego off of an sapposedly authorized dealer off ebay. i installed power and ground into my radio harness 12v and ground. other 2 into a serial cable.
My problem is when i start it up with just the power it goes through its test 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 aem then goes ---. if i plug in the o2 6 pin cable it does the same thing but only gets to 8 or 9 and then repeats itself over and over again.
ive tried rewiring the power and ground and no good. if its just the power and ground it'll go through the intro then read blanks (---), if then plug in the o2 portion into the gauge it'll restart over and over.
anybody with past experience or knowlegde of my problem please help.

I have my power wired straight into my fuse box under driver dash. I have the ground wire bolted to the chassis under steering wheel. The blue and white wire are hooked up to my serial cable

update, i used a jumper cable and attachted power to positive and ground to negative and have had the same outcome. so now would it be o2 sensor attachment or aem guage? seems like its short circuiting.

after countless hours of brain damage i finally figured out the problem. i restarted from ground zero, and it was exactly that. i had the wires switched around. instead of ground black wire i had ground white. so i just rewired it. problem solved.
