overheating
after a WOT pull, my temp gauge jumps up to the H but after returns to normal.
What would be causing this? I have absolutely no other overheating problems or concerns. Just this, and it only really happens after a 1-2-3-4. Not even on a 1-2-3
I shut it down right when I see the temp gauge move, however this is preventing me from even trying to do any hwy pulls.

Make sure coolant level is correct
There is coolant in the overflow and the hose is immersed
- If all that checks out
Remove the Thermostat and do a pull without it
- Maybe
Burp your cooling system to make sure there aren't any air-pockets trapped in there

You can check if the thermostat is working by taking it out and dropping it in the pot with water and start heating it, it'll eventually start opening slowly.
Another thing that you can do is get a pressure tester, they're not expensive, they'll let you pressurize the cooling system and see whether it holds the pressure.
Are you pushing out any coolant? Did you have to top it off after the hard pull?

Just one suggestion, dont shut it down as soon as it starts getting warm, You are trapping overheated coolant in the engine that way, you need to keep it circulating to try and cool it down.

This is a great suggestion, because once you shut it down the temp will increase for just a bit and if your overheated, that's bad to worse. Sounds like your thermostat is giving up the ghost.
