Been away from the game. My IX MR - what is it worth?
Hope I am posting this in the right place? This is not intended to be a "want to sell" ad. Just want to get a feel for reasonable value, b/c it's been years since I've been active here and prices seem like they are all over the shop, atm!! Not 100% about selling yet but I am commuting for work a lot now and really need a better DD. Any help would be appreciated.
2006 IX MR, Silver (in Midwest - not CO anymore)
one owner (me)
93k miles - nearly all highway, never tracked or autox'ed
excellent cond inside/outside; clean title
BPU mods only - internals/turbo/etc have never touched
100% stock interior
Fujitsubo Ti catback
Downpipe (don't remember brand)
Halman BC
Cone air filter
Swift lowering springs and rear sway
new stock clutch
new slotted rotors F/R
tint and UK badges
that's it I think?

But I think more than 15k. There was a post comparing a IX to a X in pricings and the IX was around 22k with ~90k miles and the X was like 23k with ~53k miles. Not saying they will get that much but thats an idea. Oh and keep it.

If the title is clean and no accidents...I wouldn't sell it for anything less than $19k...someone will pay it.
Someone I know just sold their completely stock IX MR SE with a little less mileage for $19k.

You should keep it if you can. It seems like over 95% of people who get rid of their evo's regret it…
1) If your not tuned I'm sure you could pick up a few mpg and power by getting a tune.
2) The AWD motorsports spec D2 coilovers they say are comfy which should help the commute.
3) If you still have factory ignition with your mileage then its the perfect time to upgrade to Spoolinup COP which I have and is awesome makes the car more drivable with better idle and smoother acceleration.
4) This one may sound dumb to many members here… BUT maybe ditch the wing on the car. Better rear visibility, less attention from law enforcement, and more mature looking. I hate when people think I put a bodykit on my stock car… Kind of embarrassing when you are in your late 20's and taking a girl to your car with that wing lol
Those above things should make commuting much better. Of course I'm sure you already knew all of the above, but I think all those things together would really create a good synergy to a better daily driver.
Lastly, all maintenance items would help too like drivetrain fluids for better shifting and your throttle body shaft seals are most likely leaking too.

lots of opinions here and some good advice.
FWIW: i sold my first IX MR. i regretted the decision for years. finally got another. with school coming up and prices going up.. i'm tempted to sell again. but i just don't think i can.
i LOVE this car and can't think of anything else i'd rather own. if you have your sights on something else, you may not mind once the Evo is gone. it's hard to say.

well i bought my evo 9 MR with 130k for $15, but also keep in mind its hard for someone to come up with 17-19k cash because for that price they might as well go to the dealer so just be reaasonable with the price, i think 15k or 16k is fair...but the car is clean i'll give you that
