Engine RPM problem? :helpme:

Hi guys, I was driving the VIII RS just now, and I was on third gear, 5k rpm. When I step on the clutch wanted to change to 4th gear and I realized the rpm stays on 4k and not going down at all. I wasn't on the gas, and even I tried to rev it, the rpm still stays on 4k. So I turned off the engine, restarted it and it is fine now....

Any ideas what happened guys? I got the car not long ago, it was sitting in the garage for a long time. It is on OEM map now with OEM exhaust cause I need to get it somg.

edit: I havent bring the rpm to over 5k until this problem happened. I got the car not long ago, it has some mods and I need to pass smog.
The engine light is on due to it used to run different maps and tuning, I need to drive the car a bit to get it reset.

You dont need to drive the car to get rid of the check engine light. Most likely this is an engine tuning issue. If you have a tactrix cable and a laptop you can force pass the OBD2 monitors.

Try to find a reputable tuner.
