odd anti-lag question mainly just informative

If you have an aftermarket spark system or aftermarket ecu (if possible) that keeps spark only on the compression stroke as opposed to what I believe to be standard of a spark on compression and decompression. If you eliminated the exhaust spark would a standard exhaust manifold anti lag system still work as it should? or is that cutting the spark it needs to properly function?
