Turbo manifold opinions!!! 4 bolt vs v-band

Planning on getting a forward face turbo set up

But i just saw there was a v-band option to connect the turbo and manifold together

Does the 4 bolt vs v band set up matter or even make a difference?

it makes maintenance a lot easier. vband requires no gaskets, just a clamp and thats it.

4 bolt needs a gasket, potential chance to leak if installed wrong or bad gasket.

overall personal pref, I rarely take off my turbo, i take off my down pipe more often than my turbo so i opted for a vband exhaust outlet and just a t4 divided twin scroll 4 bolt flange on the turbo to manifold flange

I love my vband inlet/outlet hotside. Not only is it easier, it is also cleaner, and the mouth area on the vband housing is actually larger than the t3. This is why from what i have seen they flow so much better

VBand both in and out. I am running the tial vband housing, and even though I don't take my turbo off frequently, the 2 times I have done so, it makes life very easy. Also it looks cooler . The only thing to keep in mind is that it might limit your turbo selection, so just make sure that what you are going to run will support the vband.

If the new FP housing was out for a stock frame turbo when I was doing my turbo kit, I would have just gone FP Green or Black and called it done. I hate the oem housing.

I like the v-band setup I have. The only hard part when it comes to v-band setups is lining up the pipes and making sure everything is as straight as possible. Just but everything together but keep the clamps loose so you can adjust the pipes and o2 housing, downpipe, ect. V-band setups are supposed to hold pressure better too.

I was all v-band then realized i'd rather have twin scroll since i'm not taking my turbo off daily.

A T4 twin scroll is the only time a standard flange is better than a vband setup with a header. I used a T3 flange because I used a cast manifold. T4 twin scroll does add a lot of costs.
