crap! suction pipe… :crap: (problem)

Hi guys,

I purchased a suction pipe. (dunno what brand.)

its a 3" aluminium painted pipe, x2 sillicone hoses on each side… one for the air filter and the other for the turbo.

however, it only has x2 bungs!!!! (one for the BOV and the other the breather hose for crankcase) the rubber OEM hose has 3..

an extra small one thats about 4mm that joins to some electrical sensor under the MAF and I'm assuming the boost gauge?

should i post pics to explain?

i dunno how I'm gonna get a 4mm bung on… exhaust shops are hopeless here.

let me know your thoughts

thanks & regards,

I think the third one is optional on some intake brands. My perrin intake also has three like the oem one. I just put a vacuum plug on small 4mm fitting since I don't use it.

Hi there, are you sure?

So the Perrin has 3… a 1" for the BOV, 4mm for the solenoid and 8mm for the PCV hose.

how would you be blocking it off if you have all 3?

well the third one runs to some sort of solenoid. i didn't think it would be a good thing to block it off?

anyone else have aftermarket suction pipe kits?

The third one is normally for the factory bcs. I run a grimspeed bcs so I don't use that line going to the bottom nipple on the intake. Do a quick search on here. there's plenty of info on this.

Hey, thanks for brining up those links.

So it seems majority of people just leave that hose out and vent it in the engine bay..using the new suction pipe without that bung / nipple.

My problem is that the OEM solenoid (BCS) has 2 ports … (one we were just talking about) and the other goes to the Actuator at the turbo.

i realised mine has been capped off… a mechanic that serviced the car prior to my purchase had capped off the line as it was running 28psi with no tune and supporting mods…

i might have to get my tuner to work out which one i can plug back in
