Factory manual calls for .7-.8mm so right there is a huge problem.
99% of the time ignition faults will set a code I agree with that but even with my problem it did not set a code. My misfire was only happening at around 60+% throttle only, other normal driving was perfect and the only way I found the misfire was watching the misfire counter data on my scan tool. Again this time it did not set a code. But replaced the spark plugs, ohm tested injectors and they were good so left one other option, got new coils and problem solved. Now there is ohm testing you can do in the coils to fully condemn them bad.

Also agree in the gap issue. I would hope you meant .025 in, that would be fine. But if you meant what you typed of .25 mm then yes biggie is right that needs changed.

Im not saying it isn't the coil. It very well may be the ignition coils are faulty, but there are many other things it could also be. Troubleshooting is a methodology and you have to cover the basics before you start delving deeper.

I never claimed that i could diagnose the problem with those 3 questions. The answers to those questions though are the first layer of the diagnostics, and you need the answers to know how to proceed further.

glad to hear you fixed it! I also had to replace my boots/wires a while back. Ive been eyeing a C.O.P. setup since my coils are kicking 140k miles on them and im sure they are getting tired.

Seems like coil or poorly gapped spark plugs
