Erratic idle
ok guys some help would be great on this little puzzle. I accidently left my window half way down last night and it rained. The inside was not soaked just some wet on the driver seat and door panel. Today everything is fine while driving, I leave work start up my car and when I put my blinker on the rpms jump up to around 1300. as well the boost gauge jumps, likely due to the rpm spike, and my volt meter spikes from 12 to 14 or around there. I have some ideas but nothing for certain and I found nothing when I searched. Please help I am way to obsessive to let it go for too long!!!!!!!

I would pull out driver side window bottons, disconnect all harnesses and dry out with hair fan or heat gun.when you do this you know there's no moister on contacts.

Dont mean to bump an old thread of mine but this problem was only masked it seems .... it rained again (no windows down this time) and the problem exists!!!!!!! turn on the right blinker, ONLY the right blinker not the left, and the cars idle goes up and down. In addition I hear a very distinctive clicking, other than that of the blinker its self, coming from passenger side engine bay....
what sucks is that now it is no longer raining here in NJ and so the problem has stoped for time being, meaning I cannot gather anymore information, but any suggestions/theories would be useful !

Double check the fuse panel for any signs of rust (possible leftover water/dampness from your first attempt at drying)....or corrosion.
Check fuses to and replace any that has any rust...buy some dielectric grease and apply small amounts in any affected areas, after cleaning and drying of course.
I would also suggest removing the drivers side door panel and inspect the wiring behind there ... clean where necessary.

The wiring harness comes thru the fire wall around the left kick panel. If you pull the inner plastic fender liner down you will see the wires--- you need to seal this big black grommet with silicon sealer---that will keep it from leaking in on all the connectors in the car.
