Question Do you have a turbo timer?

I already started this poll but, I wasn't paying attention and put it in the newbie forum. I'm just looking for a round about number so my district rep. can see this is a common thing for these cars.

I don't see them as necessary. I've seen enough factory turbo cars with over 100,000miles that never had one and still have the stock turbo....and I'd be willing to bet that previous owners never let it run before shutting down. I understand the theory, and I don't think they're harmful either, just not neccessary.

nope, just drive calmly for the last 1-2 miles below say 3k rpm, and when you shutoff after waiting about 10 secs you should be fine, remember our turbo's are water and oil cooled, not just oil.

I believe the owners manual askes that we let the car idle for a little bit before we shut the Evos off. The turbo timer just makes it easier for us to do that!! I have one!

It states to idle the car only after driving spiritedly. I don't believe it's necessary if you cruise around town while keeping the RPM's out of boost.

After TT harness and shipping, it's over $100. I have no problem spending money for a TT, but I think there's a misconception regarding TT. Many think you're risking damage to your turbo without a TT. I've actually had a few people say to me, "Whaat? You're crazy not having a TT in your EVO!"

If you get the Blitz Dual TT it can calculate the time from your boost. So if you drive hard it will have a longer time to cool down if you take it easy it runs for 10sec. It also has alot of other setting if you always want a certain amount of time you can do that to.

Additionally, it allows for other functions, such as battery voltage and in my case, projected air/fuel ratio. but i think that the biggest advantage is confusing the hell out of girls as they get out and watch you lock your car with it still running. its great!

I voted yes i have one but will not have it installed in the car until tomorrow. I do not think they are necessary but I got tired of hearing my girlfriend ***** about sitting in the car for a minute or two shile it cools down. Now she will be happy and my car can cool down at it's own leasure. believe me $100 to make your car and your woman happy at the same time is a DEAL.
