exhuast side valve seals need help

Hello evoM so the other day I took my car to a evo shop to check out a smoking problem I was having. After compression and leak down test hey said everything was perfect and that it was probably the exhaust side valve seals because it has whiteish smoke while idling and under hard acceleration. They said it doesn't smell sweet so its not coolant. I just wanted to make sure that sounds correct on what they are saying is the problem. Thanks again for any help you can provide

sounds feasible. What were your compression numbers?

Easy to check, pull your exhaust manifold and see if you have oil trail. Another possibility is your valve guides, but when I had smoke at idle it was just my seals fortunately.

^^^^^ this..
White smoke is usually water = headgasket.
Blue= oil, so potential valve seals.

I would be hesitant if your mechanic suggested the opposite.
