Whats my STOCK 03 VIII worth
#4
Depends on the market. I saw a clean title rolling shell (frame, body panels, donuts, no calipers) go for almost 8000 not too long ago. Saw a salvage 04 with 110k/TMI sell for 12000 and change, more or less stock too.
It's not really fair to ask what it is worth on a international forum. It's like asking what your house is worth. The same $150000 house where I live now would cost 900000 where I lived last. Cars aren't that extreme, but the value is a product of your local market.
Also, tree-fiddy.

My price is based on what people are selling them for now. It is very hard to find an all stock EVO VIII with decent mileage for under 13k. I have been searching for an Evo similar to OP's car the past 6 months and recently bought one. I have a pretty good idea on their prices right now.
I recently sold my last Evo on this forum for 9.9k (03 VIII). It had 159,000 miles and needed some work.

I just wouldn't get my hopes up for a value that someone halfway across the country sees as reasonable. Where I am, a 100K 8 in good condition will pull 15k minimum. I've seen people pay 18k for a stock 6-digit miler in the past 6 months.
I would bet in CA or somewhere with a dense evo population it would be a cool 5k less though. Like Evo demographics.

Thanks for the feedback, I know values will differ across the country. To be honest i put it up for sale asking 13,499 and so far the best offer i got was 11,500. Was trying to guage whether or not that was a low ball offer.

03 with 100k miles prolly no more than 12k where u are. your at the mileage where the 100k maintenance is needed and thats about 1k itself.
im calling bull$hit on 18k for 6 digit miles. not for an 03, but an 06 maybe.
the evo 9's hold more value for sure.

Looks like it is in nice condition. I certainly wouldn't sell it for any less than your asking price I don't think. Unless there's a ton of them for sale locally or some super low milers, you should get on the higher end of the spectrum if it is as nice as it presents in pictures and has no issues.
Around here it would be probably 16k, maybe 17k if you held out long enough.
For the comment above, nice IX's locally break 20k all day long on the rare instances that they come available. Its amusing how people have such a hard time with understanding that the world does not revolve around their place of residence lol.

$10-12K is my guess....the market, and your eagerness to sell your Evo, is what will ultimately dictate the price. You already had an offer of $11.5K...sell it or hold off and hope for a higher price.
I believe the $11.5K offer is solid since you admitted to needing to do the timing belt job which could run someone another $1,000 in parts and labor (for a non savvy car guy).
