Main Girdle Question

Needs more specifics. If the girdle is shot what is wrong with it? you can align hone a main girdle but can be pricey depending on location. Most will say a new block. You shouldn't really mix and match girdles from another block since they are machined together.

I believe they said something about the caps need to have work done to them. I missed my chance to call the machine shop before they closed. I spun a balance shaft and that in return spun at least a main bearing. All I heard was that the girdle isn't good anymore but not exactly why. Just to make sure I got this straight the girdle is block specific and not crank specific correct? 2.4LR = 4G64 girdle, 2.0 motors run 4G63 girdles, 2.3L = 4G63 girdle correct? In other words if my girdle is shot I couldn't go to pull a part and put one from a 4G64 block into a 4G63 block
