I live in Canada and drove a lowered turbo car last year (cobalt ss turbo) and had no problems with intercoolers being broken. However the lip IS a different story.
So if i was you i would put the car back to stock ride height if you can. That is what i am doing this winter with my evo 5

2 winters ago when I was stationed in Missouri, I had my SRT-10 Dodge Ram with extreme high performance BFG tires...let's just say RWD with nearly 500tq with strictly summer tires in the snow on a hill with a stop sign at the bottom...was not fun, but also fun at the same time haha
