So for about 3 weeks my car wouldn't boost past 10psi. I thought it was intercooler piping as one of couplers kept popping off. On the way home from work one day the car wouldn't boost at all. About 5 miles from my house the car shuts off and would not turn back on. So I jacked the car up to get a better view of all the piping. Finally got all the stupid plastic pieces off and of course all the piping and couplers were fine. I was frustrated and pissed off. Then for some reason something popped in my head that I read from this site. Some people described exactly my symptoms being caused by a clogged cat. So I unbolted the exhaust from the downpipe and sure enough the car started right up and boosted back to stock psi. So it might not happen too often but CHECK YOUR CAT! lol

So, as a practical matter, and for the long term, how did you elect to resolve the issue? Did you purchase a hi-flo cat? Did you install a test pipe? Or, did you gut your original cat?

That's why I run a de-cat pipe

I ran open downpipe for like a week until my new exhaust came in. Was pretty scary as I work in SF. It was a stock exhaust and I wanted to get one anyway, this just made it happen sooner. I now have no cat.

What was your cat clogged with? What kind of cat? stock?

Didn't bother looking in the cat and it was the stock one that came on the car.
