SRS Airbag light after moving the sensor.
Hi Guys,
I installed the HKS Kansai style air box on my AUS Spec EVO IX.
the problem was that the air bag sensor above the left hand headlight was in the way. (they musnt of designed this air box for the IX or AUSDM IX).
The JDM VIII do not have this sensor located at the spot, even though the bracket is present.
Anyhow, i disconnected it and basically used one of the two 10mm bolt and rotated it so that the plug is not hitting the air box.
Since then, the SRS air bag light stays on.
any way to rectify this?
Regards,
Happy New year also!

Hi Champ,
thanks for getting back to me.
Unfortunately, not the point i disconnected the sensor to move it.
The Airbox was a quick replacement that didn't cause hassle.
I disconnected the sensor, not knowing what it was at first (since in my experience, the EVO JDM VIII's did not appear to have it there) Until i looked at the wiring diagram and figured its a crash/impact sensor.
I then disconnected the battery.
Would that mean i will have to take it to a dealership to get them to hook it to a ODB?
i dont suppose there is the pin method for an open plug under the dashboard somewhere?
Cheers.

If you unplugged the sensor without having your battery disconnected, you will get an SRS light. It can only be shut off using a scanner, you can take it to a dealer or most body shops should have an airbag scanner.

Thanks for the response.
I've seen a few videos online that can be reset by a pin, but none for an evo.
Ill ask around people that i know from panel beater shops, otherwise ill contact the local dealer.
Thanks again
