Temparture gauge went down (Evo 9)

Temparture gauge went down (Evo 9)

Warmed the car up like always the temparture was halfway after getting on the highway the temparture went down climbed back up a little then down again after a couple minutes just sitting and idling the temparture went back up to normal. Any suggestions ?

What is the temperature outside where you are located?

Yes, you had ice in your cooling system that clogged up the flow, temp went up, once it melted, temp went back down. Make sure you have a proper mixture of coolant in your system otherwise larger damage may occur.

Yes, definitely check your coolant mixture, but also replace your thermostat.

Also clean the contacts for the sensor, this happened to mine a while back and I just took some sandpaper to the sensor contact and haven't had the issue again.
