Hm, that's odd. I think the leather and sound system come as a package though. So even if the leather is lighter, you'll have to take the sound system too, which I wouldn't care for (and that definitely makes the car heavier than the normal version).

Probably may be, but it depends on the material. Some leather is stronger and softer and can be more expensive than others. The material used for these seats is awesome, and don't forget it goes on the front seats, back seats, AND door inserts and what not. Still, I think you could possibly do it for less with a custom upholsterer.
