Treating and charging an AGM (Absorbed glass mat) battery is not the same as an conventional. In my experience they fail when people don't know how to maintain and charge them. They require a AGM approved charger at a minimum.

I've had multiple red tops, my older ones were great, in the last couple of years though, I've had 2 that were doa. jsut could not take/hold a charge from teh word go. now with AGM abtteries tehre is some prep and maintenence that needs to be done, but a totally unusable battery from the factory sucks. on the plus side, it shows up quickly and you can swap it out. I'm jsut not optimistic about the life expectancy of the ones I have gotten more recently.
