breaking up under boost

Hey guys I recently got my Evo 8
Drives fine, but when I step on it it's breaks up around the 5500rpm range,
I'm thinking it needs a quick tune to clear all that up, I'll appreciate all the feed back

Check the spark plug gap and report back. How much power are you making?

You need to check it if we are going to help you. If your spark plugs are good and the gap is good. Then you might have a coil issue

yeah do regular maintenance and repair. plugs, fuel filter, air filter and oil. you might notice something along the way too. If all looks good you could have a tune in it already and needs to be retuned.

if all those check out good check for boost leaks, or if you have an adjustable fpr make sure it is set correctly. Mine would break up really bad bc it was running super rich thanks to a nice slit in an intercooler coupler.

H3ll yeah man, Congrats. Make a note that a intercooler pipe popping off will cause you to break up under boost...you will not even go past 3500 and you will hear it. Unplugged or damaged MAF will do this too. And always to process of elimination method with these cars...start with the obvious.
