Evo 8 body question
Hey everyone,
I've heard mixed opinions regarding ways to fix my evo 8.
Short story behind the car:
bought on auction, car was salvaged and I've since swapped the control arms, shock absorber, and rear knuckle assembly
Now I want to get this crash taken care of but these are the 2 opinions that I've heard from body shops.
Some say it's possible to pull the body and line it into place again, other shops say this would not be possible on this body and that I should look for another evo 8 shell and have them weld it in.
If any of you have gone through this, please share your opinion and how you went about it.
I am attaching pictures of the car so you can see the damage that was done.
Let me know if you guys need more pics.
Thank you

I was stopped in a Ford waiting to make a left turn and was hit in the rear. It knocked me unconscious. When I came to I was a block down the street and the car was shorter than it used to be. I had it pulled and it drove and looked great.

I'm not sure from your description what it is they are talking about cutting away. If they mean cutting the car in half I'd be leery of that. Unless a perfect job things won't fit right afterward and depending on the quality of the welding, the strength of the vehicle may be compromised

If I get my hands on a rear door, I've been quoted around ~$250 if I recall correctly (I got a quote about 4 months ago). This does not include the paint job.
Right now I just want to be able to ride comfortably without the tire hitting the rear fender. After that I will focus on some proper tuning, and finally a paint job.

Yeah, I got it for $7,200.
But with fees and some extra work and parts that have gone into it I'm at $9k right now.
So far I have had to install control arms, rear knuckle assembly, shock absorber, new fuel housing.
Right now I need to take care of the body and a decent tune.
I believe it is surface rust, I will attach a pic of when the car first arrived at the yard later today.
