Evo 8 rattle on startup

Hey all! I've gone through a few threads so far and seen some various answers but I have a rattle on a cold start up that mostly goes away once it has warmed up. I have seen where some people replaced their timing belts and fixed the problem but I'm assuming the rattle has to come from a pulley with a bad bearing? Anyone have an idea? Haven't had a chance to pull the car apart yet so I'm just searching around for now.

Are you sure its not your cat? I remember I had rattling coming from under the car. Turned out the cat was melted, and pieces were just moving around inside.

I've checked the usual suspects but seen nothing from them. I'll take a video when It cools down this even to post up.

first, you have to find out which part of the car it's coming from.. otherwise we'll be guessing for a week straight LOL

Hey all, got a video of it this morning! The rattle is coming from the front in the engine bay. To me it sounds a lot like it's coming from the passenger side of the engine bay. It quiets down when the engine warms up though so it's hard to track down.

I had a noise come from my cam gears some days ago, only when the car wasn't warmed up. I opened the cam gear cover and let the car ran a bit at idle, the timing belt was all slack... changed the timing belt tensionner and it solved the problem...

Ill pull the cover tonight and see if that's what it is. I'm guessing the tensioner is going to be a dealer item?
