White evo in Baltimore Maryland (buyers beware)
I am trying to save everyone here the hassle/time/and money if you are interested in this car. Link on craigslist is provided.
https://baltimore.craigslist.org/cto/5076288021.html
Yesterday I drove from North New Jersey to Baltimore Maryland took about 3 hours. I went to go look at a white evo 9. I spoke to the guy on the phone and he stated everything was fine with the car. I asked him to please not waste my time. I am coming with cash and if everything is what you say it is I will take it off your hands. So long story short.
When I first pulled up the car looked great. She looked clean (from a distance) It was exactly what I wanted (white 9.. built.. SSL.. ) until I inspected the car.
I did a car fax and the car was in a accident. Seller told me "all the damage was fixed by the dealership the correct way no short cuts were taken" <-- is his exact words. I even have text to prove it. He said ONLY the passenger fender and front bumper were damaged.
The car was a piece of crap. Front bump, passenger fender, hood, and windshield have ALL been changed. Not oem either (note I asked if all the parts has vin tags on them he said yes) Of course all of the changed parts were not oem (all aftermarket). The car is rusted like it seen many winters and a lot of rain. Was suppose to have a Garret gt35R turbo it had a ebay gt35r turbo. He tired to be slick and put a Garret plate on the turbo. The car is supposedly fully built but has a ebay turbo? (Big red flag) Stock suspension on cheap 100 dollar springs. Black molding on top of the car (both sides) are clips are completely broken you can lift the molding like nothing. Paint is chipping all over the car. Drive side skirt is crack.
Rear wing looks changed carbon fiber patterns are different from the top and bottom. (trunk is oem has vin tag)
Before going to see the car in person I asked him 1 out of 10 what do you give this car on exterior and interior. He said exterior a 8 out of 10 just because of a few paint chips on the hood (he showed a picture of the chips). Interior 10 out of 10.
My rating Body 3 out of 10.. Inside 8 out of 10
Everything he stated was a LIE. I have our whole text convo saved. He pretty much wasted my time/gas and toll money. He said he bought the car as is 6 months ago and he knew nothing about all the bs I found on the car. If so why not say in the first place you're not sure instead of lying? In my opinion He knows everything about the car and is just trying to sucker someone. I should of known if the car isnt listed on evolutionm there is something wrong with it. Well you learn from your mistakes and I am trying to help someone avoid the hassle I went through yesterday.
BTW the only thing nice on the car was the MR Wheels that are powder coated gloss black.
Thank god on the way home I stopped in Atlantic City Casino played some blackjack and won 200 bucks. I guess it wasn't a total lost.
Buyers beware....... You been warned.

yep someone that wants a evo really bad. Hopefully this post will help some that are interested.
He said while I was inspecting the car alot of people from new york wanted the car.
Even after he so called had no ideal about the problems I found on his car. You would think he would edit his ad and put the correct stuff/problems? So he doesnt waste anyone's time? Nope ad is exactly the same. smh..

Unfortunately there are many people out there trying to sell evos in this condition. Thank you for bringing it to the forum's attention so hopefully anyone in the market in that region will see this.
My first evo was a complete junker and I had to learn the hard way. I feel the pain of whoever does buy this. Note the seller claims to have only owned the car for 6 months.. I'm sure he's claiming to sell it for some BS reason now too.
