Smoke from the exhaust

I have a whitish grey smoke coming out of the exhaust, is this bad? I posted a picture of my spark plug and a link to a video of the car running.

Grey/blue(?) smoke is oil. does it smoke at idle? acceleration? deceleration?

**edit. just saw vid. judging by the bumper, it's been smoking for some time. that is really bad. i'd do a leakdown asap. find out where it's coming from. do you have a milky-white residue on your oil cap and/or radiator cap?

The bumper is mostly from my old motor that I blew up. I just installed a new motor, it had about 1,500 miles on it when I put it in the car and I put another 500 on it driving it to get dyno tuned. I didn't replace the turbo when I replaced the motor, and I dynode 30 hp less on the new motor, so I'm thinking and hoping it's the turbo....

weird. i just put in a built engine and it made about 30whp less than the stock one. then i spun a rod bearing. piece of crap motor LOL.
anyway, your story is similar.
if your compression is good, then your turbo may leaking oil really, really bad. if it all seems okay, then you could be leaking oil from the valve seals.
1. compression check. if bad:
2a. do leakdown to find out why. if good:
2b. check the IC piping for oil from your turbo.

as bad as that is smoking, it should be really easy to find the source.

sorry to see that, man. i know what it's like to have a new engine blow on you.

Thank you for the advice, I'm going to do that after work today.

The worst part is that it sat for a year and a half before I was able to rebuild it then it was another six months until I got the engine in. So it has been down for two years and I finally have it going again and I don't even have it for three weeks before I have an issue. I blame myself though for not changing the turbo when I replaced everything else.

On another note, the picture I posted was supposed to be of the spark plug. Does everyone see a picture of a dude standing next to an EVO X or is it just me?

If it's been sitting that long you can try to run some seafoam through it. Maybe just have some carbon buildup that's not letting everything seal correctly.
It's worth a shot. But I would still test the engine to make sure that's not the problem.

Wht smoke is an indication of water in the cylinder ie a head gasket-- blue smoke is oil and black is rich mixture.
On the rebuild did you have the head resurfaced before you dropped it on and maybe the block decked or head studs put in? All these insure a good seal. Good Luck.

Crap, I just saw I posted white being oil LOL. Thanks for the correction.
I thought OP was complaining of white/grey which I assumed was oil.

OP if it is fact white, not "grey" then I agree it's water.

Sorry for my confusing post. I watched the vid on my phone, at work. I could see the quantity of smoke, but not the color.

Any milky-white substance on your radiator or oil caps?
