Questions about body work
So I bought my Evo IX MR this summer in AZ for a pittance, but that was due to some shotty body work that had been done by one of the previous owners. All I know is what is shown in the pictures below, there is body filler and it is cracking, the part of the panel that goes above the front and rear doors will need to be repainted, and nothing else is damaged besides the quarter panel (including the rear door). I have done a magnet test and the standard "knocking" test to see where the filler is and isn't. I also had a shop help me out, and have highlighted where the filler is in one of the picture below.
Now my question is, how much will it cost to fix with the two following option:
1) pulling out the filler and re-doing it the proper way,
2) completely replacing the quarter panel
I know the best way and best way to repair the damage would be to replace the quarter panel, but we all have budgets we have to loosely stick too. I am probably skipping over some info that may help with an estimate, but feel free to ask. And yes, I have taken it to some shops and have gotten estimates. I just would like to see what yal think.
