Valve spring question

Hello everyone,
I just have a quick question. I am in the market to get some springs for my Evo IX. My question is I'm trying to run billet GSC S2 with stock turbo for now. What springs u guys recommend? I was told supertech dual valve springs are good also when I go online they have different weight spring load I guess. What is a good weight for my setup?
Thanks in advance and sorry if this question is been asked a million time I for some reason could not find anything on this.

GSC beehive springs and stock retainers will suit your needs. Some guys run their S2's on the stock springs and keep it within the stock rev range. It's not recommended but it has been done

Yeah I'm the guy who used to run BC 280 cams and stock springs /retainers for 60 K miles. Drag race 10 times a year ,riding out the traps in 4th at 8200 rpms. If you can afford go with aftermarket springs . It all depends what's your plan to do with the car.

Pretty cool that you did that for so long without a problem. I'm not recommending it but it's cool that the stock springs do seem to be pretty capable.

So what does the weight mean as far as springs go I was looking at gsc 5040 and 5041s. And they talk about 68lbs,85lbs that's what's confusing me is the weight.
Any input is appreciate it. Thanks guys for helping out

I run Psi springs with stock chrome molly mustang retainers. But if it were up to me Kiggly springs and retainers. The lbs your referring to is seat pressure. 68 lbs isn't enough for a heavy cam where the 85 lbs would be better for cams with higher lift

Im running the GSC behive singles 5039 with the stock retainers in conjunction with my S2 cams. They have worked well for me thus far running ~30# of peak boost on my BBK Full and my rev limiter is set to 8250 (in Evoscan so I've hit as high as ~8350)which I smack a bunch during an Auto-x and havent had issues yet.

Its probably not the best idea honestly and kinda regret getting those over the 5040 or 5041's but they have worked fine. So all in all get the best springs you can afford so you wont have to upgrade later.

So one last recommendation from you guys so that I can order them. So I'll be running the S2 cams should I order the GSC 5040 or GSC 5041? Thank you very much guys I really appreciate all your inputs.

KIgglys and never have to upgrade your valve springs again. They are better then the gsc even though they are made by the same company by a long mile
