Shift bushings comparison with different manufacturers - same feel?

Hi guys,

I believe the oem shifter bushings for the CT9A feel pretty crap. Ive personally never experienced the feel of it and i hadn't had a chance to test anyone else's car.

I currently have the Ralliart bushings equipped which was installed by the previous owner.
I noticed that there many different brands that offer them, such as from; AMS, Buscher, torque solutions etc etc.

I believe the OEM ones are rubber, which feels very undesirable, I'm not sure what the Ralliart shifter bushing material consists of, but most seem to be aluminium or brass.

I'm curious to know, do all bushings that are metal feel the same? or does it different between brands e.g AMS ones feel better than Torque solutions etc.

thanks guys

Aluminum, brass, delrin, etc...they're all going to feel the same as long as they're not binding. They're a solid material with no give, the cables themselves are going to have more play than the bushing

I'd personally buy delrin if you can, I have the aluminum torque solutions ones and they've been fine for four years

I got my latest shift bushings from ebay. they feel exactly like the $$$ **** you mentioned above. I got both the underhood and base bushings.

They are just a few pieces of metal- it shouldn't matter.

I got the torque solution underhood and shifter bushings. I definitely recommend the underhood ones. Not so much the base bushings though

Nah I figured perhaps someone has experience and used a few different types.

This is my first EVO and it came with the Ralliart Bushings.

From what I can see in the pics, it appears that the Ralliart ones may be rubber also, but im assuming a heavier duty type.

if it is rubber, is it worth one day changing it to brass or aluminium?

regards,

In my experience it helped the shift feel a lot more solid from the under hood ones. The shifter base ones I would not recommend if you have a bad synchro or notchy transmission. It will just make it worse and you will feel it through the shifter more than you ever did before.
I used torque solution under hood and bushur solid base bushings.
