Next step... e85 or turbo. Opinions valued!

Ok. My Evo VIII has a good foundation. Good compression. 128k. Help me move forward. My goal is 400hp at the wheels. I think I have 2 options.

1. dual map e85 tune on stock turbo. No idea what upgraded wheel size is or if it's really bigger.
2. bolt on turbo like a FP green or red.

*will be buying FMIC, lower intercooler pipe upgrade and 1000 ID injectors regardless of which way I go, I will obviously be retuning car*

Mods:
-Transmission rebuilt at Shep Racing at some point. Supposedly transmission good for 450hp.
-Front differential upgrade which can "handle a **** ton". I honestly don't know anything about the differential upgrade other than it cost 1k.
-HKS cams 274in, 278ex.
-Full Buschur exhaust system.
-Buschur manual boost controller tuned @21 psi, Spring replaced at 127k as old one failed.
-Walbro 255 fuel pump.
-Stock turbo rebuilt at some point with a slightly larger compressor wheel.
-NGK BR7ES spark plugs.
-New single puck clutch replaced in winter of 2011. --Exedy HD organic.
-New ARP head studs.
-Evo IX blow off valve.
-New K&N intake filter on MAF

Thoughts? Which is more fun?

Thanks !

why not put the car on a dyno and see what it puts down and then go from there. really hard to tell you what to do without know the capabilities of the current turbo

with that said, i love my FP red DBB, great response and can make 500awhp

if you upgrade the turbo, why not till go e85? Stock turbo maxed out the evo is fun, but only for so long. It is difficult to hit 400whp on stock turbo, but you will be close with Cams and e85. Bigger turbo such as a red takes less effort to reach 400whp

I am on stock cams, full bolt on's, stock 9 turbo on E85 pushing 32psi and was able to achieve 401WHP /415 torque on a Mustang Dyno.... Dynojet numbers should be 440-450 WHP 450-460 Torque.

Go buy your self a stock IX turbo and push the little ***** to its max. Or even better buy the 71HTA CHRA from FP and you got your self 400+. Or FP green for a bit more power.

e85 is prob the cheaper route but think of this...you cant find e85 everywhere...if you ever decide to leave town in the car you have to see where/if you can get e85 where you're going...for this reason i dont go e85...i stick to pump gas...i know ill prob get bashed for this but i hate the idea of being limited by e85...

flex fuel sensor and a flex fuel tune fixes that issue

You dont needs all that crap. Just add in an e85 map/timing/injector scaling etc and just switch maps with the gas pedal at 100% with the car off. Oh you dont have E85 in this town, excuse me while I switch maps and fill up with 93. No computer needed.

Ok. Gonna send my Evo VIII turbo to turbo lab and get it machined out with a 20g billet wheel for 350. Will move forward with:

Tune 650
1000 cc Injectors 480

Turbo 350
Intercooler/piping 484
Intake 160

Do you really want new parts? Buying used but good you can save around 300. And 350 for 20G is biller wheel you can do 250 for non billet. Just FYI .
