Transporting a motor

This may sound like a dumb Questing but here we go.
I'm working on pulling my motor out of the car right now. Since the shop that will be building my motor is less then 2 hours from me, I was going to just drive the motor up and drop it off. I'm I know i will pull the oil pan and all oil parts off the Motor, the head will be all belts and all that but i need to know what everyone thoughts on the best and safest way to transport the motor.
Thank for your time

If I'm transporting an assembled motor, I usually put it on an engine stand, and secure it in the back of my truck. If you're taking it down to a short block, just set it on its side and make sure it's secure and not going to move around.

strapping it securely onto a pallet also works good. obviously protect the surface and make sure its flat. I found this way works well since you can get a couple of friends to help lift it and safely put it onto a trailer or truck. the block is so light once removed from the head.

If you have a truck and don't have a pallet, you can just place it in an old tire and it will hold it pretty securely.
