Opinions of the value of the EVO

I just want to see what everybody had to say about this topic. So being that the Evo X Final Edition has been released and our heritage will technically come to an end, where do you think the value of our cars are going?

My dad had a 93 mkiv Supra, and when he first bought it kbb was ~$18-$20k. Few years went by and i think the lowest we saw the kbb go was about $15k. Last year some dude driving by my dad's house dropped his e-cig on the passenger floor and he leaned over to grab it while driving and pulled the wheel to the right, smashing right into the Supra that so happened to be parked on the road that day; totalling it! We came to find out from the insurance company, the kbb went UP to $26k! But taking into consideration all the mods, the insurance company gave my dad $31k for the car!

I currently have an '03 Evo VIII with about 472awhp, so nowhere near stock, but also not a built bottom end YET. I LOVE the car, and so does my wife and kids, but it is starting to show its 13 year old age. My next steps with the car would be to build the motor/drivetrain, etc. So ive been debating about selling/trading it for either an evo x (because theyre newer and still an Evo) or wait maybe about a year or so and get a GTR. (Ideally i would like to keep the Evo AND get a GTR, but im not in a position to do that at the moment, LOL)

Do you guys think that due to the upcoming "rarity" of our cars the values will go back up eventually like the Supra, hold value where they are at now, or continue to go down slowly?? I know kbb is not always what people value their car on solely, but i know that my car kbb right now is around $15k, im just not too sure about putting another $10-$20k building it even more and spending around $40-$50k total, and when the time comes only be able to sell her for the $20k range.

Sorry for the long story time, but let me know what your thoughts are please! CONSTRUCTIVE COMMENTS ONLY PLEASE!

I think the rarity of our cars will always keep the price up. Id pay more a more stock evo than a built one. Not that I think they did a crappy job, I just like doing things myself, making it my own ya know. They hold there value in the sense that they are special type of car that special buyers will pay the money for. I know in my area its a love hate relationship for evos in the dealership world because it will go within a week or they wont be able to sell it because these little kids that want it cant afford and banks dont like giving out loans on older cars.

Good points. Its the same here with used evos and dealerships.

I think like the Supra, they will hold or double their value. The demand for these cars is high and the production level is low. They aren't your average Chevy Cruze where you drive it off the car lot and it instantly decreases value after every mile. My Evos blue book is still $12500 for a 14 year old car with 140k, I don't plan on selling it but even if I did I would still get my money back even after years of having fun with it.
