Does anybody have or know where to get an Evo carbon fiber hood with red carbon fiber weave? I thought that this would look awesome on a red Evo. I attached an image of what Im talking about.

 

i'm imagining you'd have to have it custom made. i don't know of anyone that carries it as standard stock. maybe you should call around to places that have evo 8 hood molds and ask if they could do a custom job w/ the colored CF.

can someone else suggest a better route?

 

Yeah I was thinking it might have to be custom work. Im not sure how much more this colored carbon fiber weave cost compared to the normal weave color. Maybe Ill try to photoshop this on the Evo and see how it looks.

 

The coloured stuff is called "Carbon Kevlar" and I think is slightly heavier than the standard CF. Most places that do CF will do CK, i know a bunch of places locally do it.

 

mmm... slight correction needs to be made there... carbon fiber can be made with a colored weave as seen above... as i'm sure you've noticed, carbon kevlar is distinguished by a lighter, almost 'greenish' tint, instead of the distinct black color of carbon fiber. although it is more common to see carbon kevlar with a colored weave, it IS possible to do it with carbon fiber, and the picture above certainly is a colored carbon fiber weave.

Colored CF is gay. Red evo would look good with just normal CF.

I like regular carbon fiber hoods but I think its too much of a contrast with a red Evo.

 

if the hood looks anything like that chop...it wouldnt look good i posted a very similar topic on this as i was looking for a red weave cf hood for my black lancer....but to each thier own

Yeah if it was anything like the chop I wouldnt like it either. My brother said he has seen a red carbon fiber hood and said it looked very good. I think I would have to see one in person before I would go this way.
