Greddy LS intercooler vs Stock

Hey guys, need you opinion on the Greddy LS intercooler kit. I'm tossing between the following two options:

- Upgrade hotside IC pipe (Plazmaman), keep stock intercooler - $360 AUD
- Upgrade to Greddy LS intercooler kit (comes with core and piping) - approx $650 AUD

I'm amazed and skeptical at how cheap the LS kit is. But I'm a big believer in you get what you pay for... So my question is; will I actually get more power gains from the LS kit compared to the stock core with upgraded hotside pipe?

My setup is:
- Stock evo 8 MR turbo - running 25.5psi
- Invidia TBE
- E85 setup
- Tomei 272 cams

Currently at 330whp. I want to eventually aim for 400 whp.

Thanks for reading!

Not sure if you can achieve that horsepower goal just by an ic upgrade and a retune, 360-80 wheel might be more realistic on e85 depending on what dyno the tuner uses.

However, upgrading your intercooler, you will definitly feel a difference on your butt dyno, specially since you have bigger cams and gulp down alot more air than a stock cam vehicle, i would say with a good retune you should be able to pickup a good chunk of power.

Keep the stock intercooler. Your "butt" won't feel a difference and it is far from necessary until trying to really break the 400whp mark.

Any mod that cools the charge air will make a dramatic difference.

Maybe if running a big turbo on stock ic. He doesn't need it on stock turbo running 25psi

Thanks for the reposes guys, I'm thinking I might go with the Greddy kit purely so that in the future if/when I upgrade the turbo (I'm suspecting a very high chance) it will be able to take advantage of bigger Intercooler

No problem, i personally would to, everyone will have different opinions andyou need to make the final decision. But in general, even without a tune you should feel a difference with a bigger intercooler, it will make your afr's a bit leaner, but not enough to cause harm, if you do a bunch of mods, i would recommend a tune forsure.

Mate, save your money for now, you're running a bit light on HP for e85, I would be investing in a fp red BB and a good set of injectors and fuel pump, then after that look at an IC, you should be up around 400 with a good tune and you might even forget about an IC.,

You reckon? I'm got ID 1000cc injectors and Walbro 255 Fuel pump also.

My complete setup:
- Grimspeed 3 port
- Invidia 3" TBE
- ID 1000 injectors
- Walbro 255 pump
- Tomei 272 cams
- Plazmaman Intake
- K&N inside a HKS factory look box

Tuner was getting 251wkw @ 25psi on the dyno for this setup running E85

But yeah sounds like I need new turbo to take me to the 400whp mark, I was thinking the intercooler cause it's slightly cheaper but admittedly much less effective lol

Mate, go to the tuning forum see some examples, a fp red BB and something like 1650s is what's going to get you to the next level being 400 if that's where you want to go, blowing 600 plus on a mid size IC now for a few HP isnt the answer. Other stuff like s2's and 450 pump is nice to haves also for an ideal setup
