Evo 6 stutters

My evo 6 developed a stuttering problem whenever i start off anywhere below 2.5k rpm power drops off and sounds like a subaru with burble in the exhaust note. checked all vacuum hoses intact. I have read that it might be a misfire is there a way to check before i limp the car to the shop? Car was running fine just last night.

Do you have evoscan and a tactrix 2.0 cable? Can check with that. A lot of people can tell when they have a misfire just from the feel of the vehicle. You can check your spark plugs and see what kind of shape there in. Could also check the condition of your wires.

Definitely look nasty. Hope the plugs solve your problem.

Changed the spark plugs this morning and tho it smoothed the stuttering and the power band out its still stuttering especially under 2500rpm or whenever you just start off from 1st gear it even sounds like it has pops n bangs when u set off any other ideas? The idle is solid at 800 or so rpm and nothing is out of the ordinary other than the stutter when i get past the stutter the power and speed is still there and builds well but this stutter really bothers

Do you have a wideband? Possibly still ignition issue. Check your wires, fuel pressure at the rail, check for any small vacuum and boost leaks.

Walbros are loud. Look at a DW or Aeromotive fuel pump. Quieter and I've had much better luck with both of them over the Walbro products.
