ok i have a 2003 evo 8 and im having issues with the idle. it wants to idle at 2000-2500 rpm all the time. ive replaced the MAF, TPS, IAC and ive checked for boost leaks. i cant figure out why this is happening. only mod is hks intake. if any body has any suggestions or if anybody has had this problem before and fixed it anything helps.

check the cable maybe? stick throttle plate not closing all the way?

 

^^^ i was gonna say start it and open hood and see if you can force the throttle closed.

 

i checked the throttle body and cable everything seems to operate normally.

 

My 03 evo has very similar issue as yours. Engine starts but can’t stay over unless giving gas when cold. When warmed up it idles 2000. So far I’ve replaced iacv (aftermarket part for lancer models, might be where the issue is at,) adjusted throttle cable and cleaned throttle body along with maf sensor. Car has stock intake so I’m assuming the problem sticks with the iacv or throttle body. Good luck

 

so car runs fine.. it just idles at 2000 rpm?

and did it just start happening or did it start after something changed
