Anybody ever make there own SD intake for a evo 8/9?

Im switching my 8 over to SD when I get it tuned and its crazy that a piece of aluminum/SS with a fitting in it are over 150 bucks. Has anybody ever made there own? If so whats the best valve to use? And what degree angle does the bend need to be to clear everything?

I did. You could save money on the filter, and if you aren't running a closed PCV system you can scratch the AN-10 fitting + welding costs.

1 AMSOIL Universal Air Induction Filter $75.63
1 3.25" - 4" 45 Degree Silicone Coupler, Black $18.95
1 T-Bolt Clamp 4.0" $5.00
1 Mandrel Bent Aluminum 45 Bend, 4.0" $22.39
1 Earl's Male AN-10 Aluminum Weld Fittings $7.99
